Type in the keyword, hit ‘Enter’ and a list of emails with that phrase will pop up.įor a slightly more advanced search, you can type a “?” in the search bar and a drop-down menu will appear. You can use this bar to search for keywords in the title of an email, the body or the sender’s address. The search bar is located in the upper right corner. IMAP, on the other hand, is not tied to a specific device. This means that if you’re using POP3, the emails are tied to a specific device and can’t be viewed on other devices without forwarding them. Once the emails are downloaded, the originals are deleted from the server. POP3 protocol downloads the emails from Inbox to a specific device from the server. Two of the most common protocols are IMAP and POP3.
